Size: The Nile River stretches 3470 miles and is the longest river in the world.

Interesting Facts:

  • The Nile River is the longest river in the world.

  • It then flows into the Mediterranean sea were it is no longer flowing strong enough to keep the salt water out and the fresh water in.

  • The water from the Mediterranean Sea is flowing in and causing disruptions in the animals and plants.

  • A while down the river the are six rapids called the cataracts, this area is also were the Aswan High Dam is located it was built to control the water level.

     The Cumberland River
     
    Interesting Features: The Cumberland River winds through a very scenic region of rolling hills and forests.  As a transportation corridor, it connects the coal mining region of middle Tennessee to the Ohio River.  Its course is arduously winding through this rugged region, the river's 381 navigable miles cover only about 170 miles as the crow flies

    The longest river is the Mackenzie River  Northwest Territories-Alberta-British Columbia, whose length is 4 241 kilometres. It is the river system with the largest drainage area: 1 805 200 square kilometres.
